The Hollis/Denson Story
What a day! What a glorious day to spend time with friends blessing a neighbor.
Today was a sunny, cool, crisp day to work at Ms. Lela’s house. We painted and landscaped all day long. There were about 31 folks at her house taping, sanding, mulching and planting. We were able to be a part of God’s vision for widows and orphans, and it was humbling to work with J.T. and Both Hands to carry out what the Lord has called us to. It was only a small part, but it was an opportunity to focus our labors on something that is near to our Father’s heart.
We painted a master bath, master bedroom, two more bedrooms and another bathroom. It was fun working with a professional. Ron was our superintendent for the painting part of our project and he gave us lots of insider tips. The rooms looked like pros were in there.
The landscaping was a lot of work. Everyone worked hard spreading mulch, digging, and weeding. Our volunteer professionals, Emily and Alfred, had a great plan to make Ms. Lela a special place to remember Denny.
Our time together really went by quickly and I think all of us agreed that we left thinking we were a part of something much bigger than ourselves. Thanks for being a part of our story, which is, by grace, a part of His story.
